Art Van deLUX

Art Van deLUX was conceived in 2007 as a way for LUX Center for the Arts to take its high quality, hands-on art education programs offsite and into the community. Art Van deLUX hit the road in 2010 and now partners with schools, youth service agencies, senior living facilities, daycare centers, and local businesses and organizations to provide art classes and wellness programs.

Staffed by artists and educators with expertise in ceramics, painting, fibers, drawing, jewelry making, printmaking, beadwork, textiles, and general arts education, Art Van deLUX contains all of the equipment and materials needed to facilitate a wide variety of hands-on art classes. This program provides a cost effective way of adding arts experiences to educational and cultural programs by sparing host institutions the cost of obtaining the expensive equipment needed to produce art. Classes are not held in the van, but rather in spaces provided by the host. Art Van deLUX has served over 4,600 people in the Lincoln community.
