Being shown for the first time in an exhibition setting, Bob Hall presents original drawings for the entire full length comic book edition of Kandi Kane: The Saturday Night Special. The Saturday Night Special is one of a series of stories in the Armed & Dangerous series published by Acclaim comics in the 1990′s and features stories exploring the Westies, Irish gangsters in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen. Kandi Kane is the heroine, an exotic dancer who reaches out to Lana, a troubled girl struggling with drug addiction. This exhibition presents 11 double page spreads and 2 single cover drawings. The Armed and Dangerous series has been characterized as, “dark, gritty crime thrillers with lots of action, violence and blood”.
Bob Hall will be on hand at the opening to talk about his work.
This exhibition is comic art for adults. It is ‘R’ rated material featuring violent action, nudity and tough language.
