The LUX Center for the Arts provides opportunities for students who are working toward a career in the arts. Internships are available in gallery, classroom, museum and administrative areas.
Paid Internship – Education Assistant
LUX Center for the Arts is currently seeking an Undergraduate or graduate student to assist the Education Director. Applicant must be in an art, art education, art history or museum studies program. Additional experience in an arts organization or exhibition work considered a plus. Candidate must be self-motivated, have attention to detail, and follow instructions both written and verbal. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, general to advanced knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, and ability to lift 50lbs are needed. Paid compensation and college credit available.

Unpaid Internship – Gallery Assistant
LUX Center for the Arts is currently seeking a graduate or undergraduate student to assist the Exhibitions Director. Applicant must be in an art, art history or museum studies program. Additional experience in an arts organization or exhibition work considered a plus. Candidate must be self-motivated, have attention to detail, and follow instructions both written and verbal. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, general to advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and imaging software, and the ability to climb 10 foot ladders and lift 50lbs are needed. There is no compensation for the internship. Credit may be obtained for this internship through local universities.

Unpaid Internship – Membership and Marketing Assistant
LUX Center for the Arts is currently seeking a graduate or undergraduate student to assist the Membership and Marketing Coordinator. Applicant must be a graduate or undergraduate student in marketing, advertising, public relations, business administration, or graphic design. Additional experience in an art organization or non-profit organization is a plus. Candidate must be self-motivated, detail oriented, able to work independently, and able to follow instructions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, having reliable transportation, and advanced word processing skills are required. Knowledge of Adobe design products and Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is a plus. There is no compensation for the internship. Credit may be obtained for this internship through local universities.
