I made my first print when I was eleven, and soon after graduating from high school I started working with intaglio etching and experimenting with different printmaking techniques. 10 years ago I discovered Mokuhanga and very soon after learning the technique my main focus became portraying nature. There is something in the uniqueness of the tools and materials used in this medium, the wood, the water, the handmade paper, that I find calls particularly to a part within my soul that needs to be expressed in this way.
