I was born in North Carolina at the end of WWII. My family returned to Lincoln NE before I was 2 years old. I was raised in Lincoln attending College View Elementary School and Southeast Jr/Sr High School graduating in 1964. I spent 4 years in the US Air Force (2 years in France and 2 years in Maine).
I married Vaike in 1968 and we moved from Maine to California where I attended Merced Junior College, returened to Lincoln (there's no place like home) attending the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where I graduated with an Art Education degree.
I have taught Art in Chardron NE, Brookfield CT, Marlcom NE and am currently an Art Mentor for the Visually Gifted Program in the Lincoln Public Schools.
I have always been interested in Art and the kids that I work with keep me motivated.
I have always been fascinated and in awe of the beauty of God's Creation: The way light plays on the colors and shapes and textures of flowers. It is so subtle. My camera is my sketch book so I paint from photographs of flowers that I take in my yard. I like to enlarge them and paint them bigger than life because God's Creation is bigger than life.
