Michael Dal Cerro has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University and received a Fellowship to attend Yale Summer School of Music and Art. Dal Cerro was an artist-in-residence at the Amsterdam Graphics Atelier in 2019, and Artist-in-Residence at The Newark Printshop in 2018. In 2019 Dal Cerro was a finalist for The Metropolitan Transit Authority Arts Percent for the Arts Program where he was commissioned to create a proposal for six art panels for the #7 train line 103rd or 111th Street Stations in Queens, New York. Dal Cerro’s work has been exhibited at The International Print Center of New York multiple times. He has had a one person shows at the Mid-Manhattan branch of the New York Public Library, Grays Harbor College, WA and Ramapo College, NJ and Monmouth Museum, NJ next year.
In my recent work I have created a series of linocut and woodblock prints of imaginary transit stations. My fictitious urban spaces are portrayed with assertive colors, hard-edge geometric and biomorphic shapes in a dynamic multi-layered space.
