My chosen artistic practice has always been inspired by nature, whether it be colors, patterns, emotions, or the threats to its permanence. The process of carving and printing a woodblock is meditative and allows me to have a vision that can evolve and surprise. The act of simplifying and finding the essence of a place through this medium continues to inspire me. My hope is that viewers will look closely at nature, discover native plants, birds and insects, and protect what we have for future generations.
