Tom Virgin lives and works in Coconut Grove & Little Haiti. Virgin received an MFA from the University of Miami in 1994. His work in collaboration, printmaking, book arts, and public art often depict shared civic resources such as public schools & national parks. Virgin is the Founder and Proprietor of Extra Virgin Press (2015).
In the progression of prints to book arts, and from book arts to public art and installation, my practice has expanded to fill walls and rooms at times. Right now, and for the immediate future, I am creating small spaces, intimate, shared environments that require slow consumption and attentive viewers to fully activate the visual and literary content of these vessels. Big or small, my life and my world in art has always revolved around stories, the narratives I observe around me, unfolding daily.
