2025 LUX Summer Camp Interns!

Department: Education 

Hours: Approximately 18-40 hours per week 

Compensation: $13.50/hour

CAMP INTERN APPLICATION FORM


Position Description:  

LUX Center for the Arts is offering paid internships for art enthusiasts aged 14 and older to assist in Summer Camps, which run through 10 weeks starting on June 2nd.

Interns will help with art activities, work with youth (ages 6-15), and assist with studio upkeep and organization of materials. Internships are available in both ceramics and 2-D art camps.

No prior experience is necessary, but an interest in studio art or art education and a passion for working with youth is required. Candidates should be able to work individually and collaboratively in a team environment.

Interns can choose how many and which weeks they would like to work. Interns are required to report 15 minutes before camp begins to assist with preparation, and to remain 15 minutes after camp ends to clean up.

Interns must attend the mandatory camp training session, which is scheduled for May 4th, from 1pm until 4pm, on site at the LUX.

Responsibilities of all Interns: 

  • Help manage classroom facilities and maintain the organization of materials. 
  • Report all accidents or incidents to the Learning & Engagement Staff. 
  • Follow directions given by instructors and LUX Staff. 
  • Attend pre-camp mandatory training - May 4th, 2025, t1pm-4pm. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Schedule and Opportunities:

Interns may sign up for either morning or afternoon camps, and may opt to help cover morning care or lunch care depending on their availability.

Camp Schedule:

  • Morning Care 8am-9am
  • Morning Camp 9am-12:30pm
  • Lunch Care 12:30pm-1:30pm
  • Afternoon Camp 1:30pm - 5pm
