After graduating in 2016, she continued to further her career by working at MTBurton Gallery in Surf City, NJ. At the end of Summer 2017, she moved to Edinboro for the studio technician position with Edinboro University of Pennsylvania to continue being a studio potter in a community studio environment.
Currently, Brianna is pursuing a body of work that is inspired by her travels of nature and exploration of new places. She combines colors influences by the outside work on forms that intended for daily functional use.
I approach making ceramic wares with a balance of form and surfaces, allowing the surface to appear as an effect of the form. Through the making process of throwing on the wheel, I create layers in the form. I throw a symmetrical form and alter the surface by pushing from the interior or exterior, then revisit the same place with an opposite force. This creates a line that implies a floral shape within the form that could be interpreted many different approaches.
