Biography

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Megan E. Griffiths began her artistic career at a young age, drawing on walls, painting her toys and getting up Saturday mornings to watch “The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross.” In school, a passion for drawing and ceramics was sparked and a high school class trip to France and Italy led to a degree in Art History and as many ceramics classes as was allowed at the University of Tulsa. Following graduation, Megan worked in the education department at the Philbrook Museum of Art where she had the opportunity to sit in on many of the children’s art classes and learned to make linoleum cut prints. After a year in Scotland at the University of St. Andrews, where she received her Masters in Museum and Gallery studies, she moved to Omaha in 2008 to work as a conservation technician at the Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center. Soon after moving to Omaha, she brushed up her printmaking skills and began producing hand-printed linoleum cut cards that she hopes brings a little happiness to the world...just like Bob Ross.

Artist Statement

What started out as a hobby that could make a little pocket money, has turned into a real creative outlet. Keeping my color palette simple and neutral has helped me to develop a signature style that is appealing to a wide audience. I get inspiration from puns and word play, as well as songs and ideas friends suggest: basically wherever I find them. Not only do I get to share my work with my customers directly, but by the very nature of cards, they in turn share my work with their loved ones.
