LINCOLN, Neb., (February 18, 2020) LUX Center for the Arts presents a Survey of Works by Reva Lehrer. This exhibition will have an opening reception First Friday, March 6, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. During the opening, at 6 p.m. Her memoir, entitled “Golem Girl,” will be published by the One World imprint of Penguin/Random House, in October 2020. Ms. Lehrer is represented by Regal Hoffman & Associates literary agency, NYC.
Riva Lehrer is an artist, writer and curator whose work focuses on issues of physical identity and the socially challenged body. She is best known for representations of people with impairments, and those whose sexuality or gender identity have long been stigmatized. Ms. Lehrer is considered one of the foremost artists and curators in the field of Disability Culture. A longtime faculty member of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and other institutions, Riva Lehrer is currently instructor in Medical Humanities at Northwestern University.
