Jennifer Martin
Jenny Martin is an artist based in Northeast Nebraska. She utilizes a variety of mediums, mainly two dimensional. These include painting, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, and drawing. She hopes to evoke human reaction to others' emotion. Through these reactions, she makes it a goal to point out humanity's built-in desires to help, console, mediate, and celebrate with others. Her work has been shown at Wayne State College and several international postcard galleries.
My work is focused on creating psychological spaces that evoke empathy. I use line, layering, and ambiguous backgrounds to call attention to the subject’s humanity rather than their superficial qualities. With this as an end goal, I create sanctuaries for the viewer to feel conveyed emotions, and as a result, remind viewers of their innate desires to positively connect with others.
