Artist-in-Residence Katelyn Farneth Leads Efforts to Provide Art Supplies to 450 Kids.
Katelyn Farneth lives, works and breathes art at the LUX. This past summer, she led a successful drive to fund art supplies for 450 of our Lincoln Public School’s outreach students, so they’d have art supplies at home to work on projects.
“Last year while teaching throughout Lincoln I found that many of the children didn’t have access to basic art supplies at home. This year I decided to try and change that. I wanted to give kids the creative outlet they need to foster critical thinking and influence a new generation of artists.”
Each child K-5 in an Art Van deLUX after-school class received a bag that contained a box of colored pencils, crayons, a pencil sharpener, and their very own sketchbook. Thank you to all who donated and made this supply drive possible!
