Madilyn Anderson
Madilyn Anderson has been an artist since she was a kid. Born and raised in Baton Rouge, she spent a lot of time in museums and bookstores reading about art. Anderson received her B. A. in Art History from Louisiana State University. After graduating, she pursued her Masters in Art, with her focus being printmaking. She now resides in Alexandria where she works as the Collections Assistant at the Alexandria Museum of Art.
My mind is a jumble of lines waiting to be tied together to create a print. Long, short, straight, and wavy lines come together to weave a composition in ink. My subject matter can come from two places: my research into art history and my slightly chaotic imagination. Either way, my art helps me work through my memories and celebrate the things that matter most to me.
