More than $100,000 raised in support of arts education and public art.

LINCOLN, Neb. (April 24, 2024) The LUX Center for the Arts, together with nearly 300 community members, celebrated their annual fundraiser for art and arts education on Saturday, April 20 at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center. The 47th annual LUXe Party & Art Auction helps to raise funds for education, exhibition, artists-in-residence, and outreach programs. More than 85 local, regional, and national artists contributed artwork this year to support LUX programs that provide accessible art experiences to all members of the community. The event brought in more than $100,000 through artwork sales, sponsorships, donations, and tickets sales.  

“It was a tremendous evening of fun and art,” said Joe Shaw, executive director of the LUX. “Thank you to all our community partners who come together every year to celebrate art and artists and to generously support our art programs.” 

The LUX recognized Ayars & Ayars/Architecture ETC with the 2024 LUX Art Champion Award which is awarded to individuals or organizations who have been champions of art in our community. 

Nathan Murray was the recipient of the 2024 LUX Community Art Award which is presented to an artist who provides leadership that strongly supports arts education, public art, and increased arts events in our community spaces.  

The LUX recognized Artists-in-Residence Justin Behm and Anthony Park Kascak with the 2024 Spirit of the LUX Award, for their outstanding service to the LUX that went beyond the call of duty.
