I parse through questions and ideas surrounding waste, labor, and play using an amalgam of strategies, most prominently multimedia installation, kinetic sculpture, and systems building. I use levity and absurdity to destabilize underlying assumptions about objects, systems, and spaces.
Recently I have been parsing through these questions and ideas:
- The absurdity of ownership and sustainable alternatives
- Is waste impossible or inevitable? How can repurposing and recategorizing waste affect how we treat it?
- What is the relationship between futility and labor?
- How can ‘artificial embodiment’ affect emotional response and attachment to objects and machines
