A Perfect Day
A Perfect Day
Artists choose landscapes as their subject for a variety of reasons. In addition to desiring to represent or replicate the obvious beauty of a view, some artists opt to create these depictions to study and explore various aesthetic elements such as the atmospherics of light and shadow; the rhythms and harmony of nature; and the interactions of texture, shape, and form. Additionally, some artists use scenes of nature to tell a story, illustrate an idea, or represent a metaphor.
The print exhibition titled A Perfect Day allows the visitor to experience the artist’s vision of a variety of climates, terrains, and locales. The viewer may assess the artist’s conceptualization and intent and if what is portrayed indeed is a perfect day. A Perfect Day may be seen on the 2nd floor in the Lux Print Gallery.
The exhibition was curated by Susan Soriente, curator of the Lux Print Collection.
