Slipping Glimpse
Slipping Glimpse
Taylor Woolwine's exhibition Slipping Glimpse showcases paintings completed during his year-long residency at the Lux Center for the Arts. Through these pieces, Woolwine investigates and embraces his eclectic and often contradictory inspiration and impulses. Images from art history and pop culture are used as source material to construct new, multi-layered worlds in which a love of depiction melds and clashes with an interest in abstraction and the painted mark.
Taylor Woolwine received his MFA in Painting from Indiana University in 2014 and his BFA in Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2010. For the last year, he has maintained a studio at the Lux Center for the Arts as an Artist-in-Residence. Taylor teaches community art courses at the LUX, and is also an adjunct instructor at Southeast Community College and Concordia University.
