This pottery wheel class, for Youth age 9-11, teaches the basics of starting a project on the wheel, focusing on essential foundational skills. A continuation of the fundamentals of wheel throwing. Dive a little deeper into the basics of throwing, trimming, and glazing by experimenting with different forms and refining techniques in this six week class. Students will use earthenware clay and low-fire glazes.

Start your weekend with a fun, wheel throwing class for all ages! LUX Teaching Artists will provide instruction and inspiration as participants learn the basics of the pottery wheel. Projects may include bowls, mugs, and vases.
In this Intermediate 8-week class, participants will learn to wheel-throw forms that are then altered and carved to look like flowers. Proportion, curvilinear profiles and volume will be addressed as participants create cups, bowls or vases. All materials and firing will be provided. This class is for adults 16+.

Saturday from 12pm-2pm wheel throwing instruction will be provided for young artists 10 -15 years old.
LUX Teaching Artists will provide instruction and inspiration as children learn the basics of the pottery wheel! Participants are welcome to come every week or as few as 2 weeks to have work fired.
