Join us for this fun, unique workshop with your date, friends, or family to experience oil-painting! Each participant will receive a mini-canvas and the opportunity to try their hand at painting with this exciting and challenging medium. All materials are provided.
Explore your voice through creative expression! Expressions of Art and Hope is a series of free art classes for individuals living with and beyond cancer. These classes are usually held the second Monday of each month in collaboration with CHI St. Elizabeth and the LUX Center for the Arts. All participants must register individually. Classes take place at the LUX Center for the Arts from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

We can’t tell you exactly what it is because we don’t want to spoil the surprise – but each student will make two unique pieces just for Mom. Caregivers drop students off and pick them up with a wrapped and ready Mother’s Day present from the heart. This workshop is for Kids ages 5-8 and Youth ages 9-11.

This class will introduce beginning students to the fundamentals of painting with oil paints and allow more advanced students time to hone their skills. All paints and materials provided. This class is for adults aged 16 and older.
Participants in this class will design, carve and print their own linoleum block. Tools, ink and a variety of paper and a selection of t-shirts will be provided. Students are welcome to bring design ideas or sketches and additional items to print on. Please wear older clothes and shoes as they may get messy or stained. All materials are provided. This workshop is for Youth age 9-11 and Teens age 12-15.
In this workshop, participants will learn to apply, mix, blend, and build layers of colors using oil pastels while exploring florals and landscapes. A great introduction to the medium or opportunity to explore new techniques. All materials are provided. This workshop is for adults 16+.
In this fun workshop, children ages 5-11 will learn about design and texture as they create paintings without traditional paint brushes. Students will experiment with sponges, cotton balls, toothbrushes, Q-tips, leaves, forks, feathers, cardboard tubes, string, legos and more as they discover how everyday objects can be used to create art! All materials are provided. This workshop is for Kids ages 5-8 and Youth ages 9-11.
This workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of painting with acrylic paints, while allowing more advanced students an opportunity to hone their skills. In this fun 2-week mini class, participants of all ages will create whimsical 3-D animal portraits! Using recycled cardboard and egg cartons, along with acrylic paint, felt, markers and more, you will make one-of-a kind portraits sure to brighten any room! A paying adult must accompany all children age 11 and under. Teens, age 12-15, do not need a parent/guardian to stay, but they MUST be reachable in case of emergencies. All materials are provided.
