Kids ages 5-8 will enjoy exploring various artists, painting techniques, and styles each day. They'll work on projects using acrylics, watercolors, and oil pastels, while learning essential skills in paint mixing, drawing, and brushwork. All materials are provided.
In this fun camp for Kids ages 5-8, students will explore various aspects of printmaking and mark-making. They will create their own stamps and experiment with techniques such as styrofoam printing, potato prints, collagraphs, cyanotype, and Gelli printing using a variety of materials. In this camp, Teens age 12-15 will design and build a sculptures and mobiles using paper mache clay. Students will learn to build an armature, mix and apply clay, and finish their artwork with painting. All materials are provided.

This workshop will introduce participants to the fundamentals of painting with acrylic paints while exploring the concept of abstration, where the artist uses shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect rather than realistic depictions. In this all ages workshop, participants will explore still life drawing with a variety of drawing materials such as graphite pencils, graphite sticks, and conte, and craypas.
A paying adult must accompany all children ages 11 and under. Teens, age 12-15, do not need a parent/guardian to stay, but they MUST be reachable in case of emergencies. Pieces will be ready for pick up 2 weeks after the last week of the session. All materials and firing provided. This class is open to ages 5+.
In this workshop, participants will design, carve, and print their own tea towels. Participants are encouraged to bring their own design, and the instructor will have several options to choose from. In this 4-week class, students explore Still Life Drawing and will learn to draw objects of all different sizes, shapes, and textures with graphite and charcoal. Taught by LUX Artist-in-Residence Maddie Hinrichs, this class is for beginning through advanced students aged 16 and older.
Explore your voice through creative expression! Expressions of Art and Hope is a series of free art classes for individuals living with and beyond cancer. These classes are usually held the second Monday of each month in collaboration with CHI St. Elizabeth and the LUX Center for the Arts. All participants must register individually. Classes take place at the LUX Center for the Arts from 6:00-8:00pm.
