In this class, participants will learn the fundamentals of colored pencils, including color theory and techniques such as stippling, hatching, cross-hatching, back and forth stroke, and scumbling. You will use these techniques to layer colors over top of one another to create smooth blends and gradations of color while creating still life, floral or landscape drawings. Reference photos will be available, but participants are welcome to bring their own. All materials provided. This class is for Teens 12-15 (Parent/guardian must be available in case of emergency) and Adults 16+.

This class is designed for beginners to learn the the basics of crochet. In this 3-week class, participants will be introduced to water-based media, including acrylic, gouache, watercolor and water-soluble graphite. Participants will experiment with different brushes, painting surfaces. and will combine materials using techniques learned.  A second session is offered starting on January 27.  No pre-requisite...feel free to take either or both.  All materials provided. Participants will be introduced to the work of contemporary illustrators and will utilize drawing and painting as diaristic storytelling, narrative art, and invention of characters and scenes. Explore the versatility of metalsmithing and make your own jewelry out of bronze and copper metal clay! In addition to learning different ways of utilizing bronze metal clay, students will also learn how to add color to copper using enamels. All supplies and tools are provided.
